Pressure vessels and FRP tanks hold the media that does the work — softening resin, activated carbon, sand and specialty media — and brine tanks store the regenerant that keeps a softener functioning. Correct sizing against flow rate and regeneration cycle matters more here than almost anywhere else in the plant.
